The race, ethnicity and gender questions require a response.  However, if the educator wishes not to respond, they must opt out on each question separately by selecting ‘I do not wish to respond’.

Race and ethnicity are separate questions:

• Ethnicity is about Hispanic/Latino and the choices for the dropdown list are (purple box in the image below): 
  • Hispanic/Latino
  • Not Hispanic/Latino
  • I do not wish to respond
• The checkbox options for race are (blue box in the image below):
  • American Indian/Alaskan Native
  • Asian/Pacific Islander
  • Black Or African American
  • Native Hawaiian Or Other Pacific Islander
  • White
  • I do not wish to respond
